RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan received today Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy.

Welcoming the visit of Mikhail Shvydkoy to the RA ESCS Ministry, Vahram Dumanyan expressed confidence that cultural cooperation holds a special place in the bilateral interstate relations between Armenia and Russia. The ESCS Minister highlighted the importance of fully realizing the existing potential of cooperation, as well as the implementation of new programs.

“I am glad to meet with such a figure as you, who has great respect and authority. I am sure that with your rich experience and activities you will continue to contribute to the further deepening and development of educational and cultural cooperation that has formed between our countries,” said the ESCS Minister and expressed willingness to take the necessary steps to raise cooperation to a new level.

Thankful for the meeting, Mikhail Shvydkoy spoke about the importance of expanding the Armenian-Russian cultural and educational programs, deepening bilateral cultural cooperation. The interlocutors discussed in detail the issues of deepening the contacts between cultural and educational officials of the two countries, holding high-level events in Armenia and Russia.

Vahram Dumanyan drew Mikhail Shvydkoy's attention to the issue of preserving the Armenian cultural heritage, which is of universal value, in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan after the 44-day war in Artsakh. Mikhail Shvydkoy noted that he is willing to contribute to the solution of the issue to the possible extent.
