Within the framework of his visit to Moscow, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Vahram Dumanyan met today with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov.

During the meeting, the Ministers highlighted the importance of the Armenian-Russian cooperation in the field of higher education and science and underlined the need to strengthen and further develop bilateral relations, discussed issues of cooperation aimed at the possibility of implementing joint programs in the field of science and higher education.

Vahram Dumanyan and Valery Falkov also referred to the scholarship program implemented within the framework of the Interstate Program, which in the scope of bilateral cooperation enables young people to receive higher education in the leading universities of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation.

The Ministers also touched upon the perspectives for the activities and development of universities and branches of universities founded in Armenia with the participation of the Russian Federation.

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation V. Falkov said that in 2021 the event of "Mathematics" educational program will be organized in "Sirius" Education Center in Sochi and, on July 6-14, 2022, the International Congress on Mathematics will be held in St. Petersburg. He kindly invited V. Dumanyan to take part in these two important events.

The Ministers also discussed the opportunities and issues of cooperation in the field of science. It was noted that the implementation of joint programs will also contribute to the advancement of new scientific developments. Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation V. Falkov informed that the Russian Science Foundation implements grant programs, and will be glad if the educational structures and institutions of Armenia participate in the competitions of these projects.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on expanding the cooperation in the fields of higher education and science through the implementation of new programs, the exchange of experience and information.
