The 60th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad was held in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, from April 15 to 23. It was conducted in 3 stages: 2 theoretical and 1 practical.

Over 200 students from 37 countries participated in the Olympiad. The Armenian team was represented by 12th-grade students Mikayel Aleksanyan (Special School for Advanced Study in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Vanadzor) and Hayk Harutyunyan (Quantum Lyceum). The team was led by Andranik Davinyan, an employee of the Scientific-Technological Centre for Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the National Chemistry Olympiad committee.

At the Olympiad, Mikayel Aleksanyan was awarded a bronze medal.

Note that at the previous, 59th International Mendeleev Olympiad, held in Brazil, the two-member team from Armenia won one silver medal.
