RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received today the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy.

ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan also attended the meeting.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister emphasized the willingness to enhance and increase the efficiency of Armenian-Russian cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture and sports.

“Cooperation in the cultural and educational sectors also has a special place in the interstate relations between Armenia and Russia. I am sure, there is more potential for the advancement and deepening of existing relations,” emphasized the Minister, highlighting the importance of holding the Armenian-Russian educational conference in the field of culture, which has been launched today, within the scope of which it is planned to discuss issues of expanding cooperation in the field of culture, improving the educational environment, training of personnel, introducing technologies and innovations into the activities of HEIs.

Zhanna Andreasyan informed that the opening of the exhibition of the State Museum of Russian Cinema entitled “I Sing to You, My Armenia” dedicated to the “Armenfilm” Film Studio and the days of Russian cinema in Armenia was also held within the framework of the Conference. The Days of Russian Cinema will be launched at the Moscow Cinema in Yerevan, and film screenings are also scheduled in Gyumri.

Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy thanked for the reception and stressed that very warm cultural relations have been formed between the two countries. In the near future, the Chekhov International Theatre Festival will be held in Russia, in which Armenian theatre figures will also participate. The sides also discussed the prospects of cooperation in the fields of education and science, in particular, the creation of opportunities for cooperation between various scientific institutions.

Other issues on mutual cooperation were also discussed during the meeting.
