RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arthur Martirosyan received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Armenia Anne Toft Sorensen.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Arthur Martirosyan expressed confidence that based on effective cooperation and joint efforts, Armenian-Danish relations will enter a new stage of development.

The ESCS Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of implementing joint programs with the Danish side in the fields under the Ministry’s coordination and expressed willingness to take the necessary steps in this direction: “Implementing reforms in all directions is a priority for us. In this case, we also attach importance to close cooperation and experience exchange with Denmark. We are ready to expand partnership relations, making them more efficient.”

Arthur Martirosyan also noted that there is great potential in the Armenian-Danish relations for the implementation of joint scientific, educational, inter-university, research, and student programs.

Highlighting the importance of cooperation in the youth field, the Deputy Minister informed the Ambassador that according to the RA Government Program 2021-2026, it is planned to have 25 youth centers throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia by 2026 and that two of them -one in Ijevan and the other in Meghri - will soon start operating. He expressed hope that bilateral cooperation programs could be developed in this direction as well.

Thankful for the reception, Anne Toft Sorensen noted that she is glad to have the opportunity to expand activities in Armenia and stressed that the Danish side is also ready to expand the scope of cooperation.

The sides also discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Denmark in the fields of culture and art. Several other issues of mutual interest were also touched upon.
