Chaired by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of the Prime Minister's Staff, Chairman of the 100th Jubilee Anniversary Commission of Charles Aznavour, the first session of the mentioned commission was held today at the RA Government.

ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and Deputy Minister Ara Khzmalyan attended the session.

Arayik Harutyunyan welcomed the participants of the session, emphasizing the importance of organizing Charles Aznavour's jubilee at the highest level. The anniversary events are scheduled for 2024.

During the session of the commission, preparations for the jubilee events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the renowned chansonnier were discussed, and various proposals were presented. Ideas were exchanged on a number of issues related to the event formats and schedules.

Within the framework of the program, a number of events are planned in the capital and regions, in particular: concerts, a conference, film screenings, redemption of postage stamps, and recordings.

Co-founder of the “Aznavour” Foundation, Charles Aznavour's son Nikola Aznavour, thanked the RA Government for setting up the commission and noted: “One of the main directions of the mission of the “Aznavour” Foundation is the preservation and dissemination of Charles Aznavour's cultural heritage, as well as the philanthropic and humanitarian values that he bore. In that context, preparing for the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Charles Aznavour is an exceptionally important direction for us.”

Arayik Harutyunyan touched upon the importance of organizing the jubilee year of Charles Aznavour at the proper level and in this context stressed the need for effective work of the corresponding departments and structures
