RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia Rina Kalyurand.

The meeting was also attended by Arsen Baghdasaryan, Head of the Department for General Education of the RA ESCS Ministry, Angelina Hovhannisyan, Head of the Division of Foreign Relations of the Department for Foreign Relations and Diaspora, and Armenuhi Poghosyan, Head of the Division of Policy-Making and Strategy Development of Vocational Education and Training.

The Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador for the visit and the contribution to long-term cooperation. Zhanna Adreasyan highlighted that education is one of the priorities of the RA Government, therefore, a number of reforms are being successfully implemented in this sector.

“The visit of the Armenian delegation to the Republic of Estonia within the framework of the “Estonian Education Best Practice Exchange Program” aimed at studying the peculiarities of the education system and the experience of showing the best results in various international competitions in recent years has been quite productive in terms of implementing education reforms. We are grateful for the efficient organization of the visit of the Armenian delegation at a high level,” noted the Deputy Minister adding that the Armenian side is also willing to develop inter-university dialogue, which will include the possibility of implementing joint educational and research programs, as well as exchange programs for students and teachers.

In this regard, Zhanna Andreasyan suggested the Ambassador consider the possibility of signing a cooperation program or a memorandum: “We will be happy to host our partners in Armenia to consider further programs and the scope of cooperation.”

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary positively assessed the prospects of Armenian-Estonian collaboration and noted that she will consider the visit to Armenia with her colleagues in the near future.

“I am glad that the visit of the Armenian delegation was productive. I am sure that the meetings should be ongoing. The main target of my visit is to become a bridge between Estonian and Armenian specialists. I think mutual visits are the best way to share experiences,” noted Rina Kalyurand.

Highlighting the importance of strengthening the Armenian-Estonian friendly ties and cooperation development, the Deputy Minister proposed to foster collaboration in the field of culture and creativity.

“In this regard, it is also possible to consider the possibility of participation of cultural officials and groups of the Republic of Armenia in international cultural events organized in Estonia. At the same time, we are ready to host Estonian cultural officials at cultural events organized in Armenia” summed up the Deputy Minister
