The Armenian National Agrarian University and the "Aratos Group" Greek company signed a memorandum of cooperation today, according to which a master's program in Precision Agriculture will be introduced in the ANAU, and applications for joint research projects for EU-co-funded programs will be developed.

The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the Armenian National Agrarian University Vardan Urutyan and the President of “Aratos Group” Nikos Bogonikolos.

The signing ceremony, held at the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arthur Martirosyan, Adviser to the RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Hayk Aslanyan, and the Advisor to the President of the “Aratos Group” company Kostas Platikostas.

Congratulating those present on the signing of the memorandum, ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan underlined the importance of friendly relations between the two countries that have been established over the years and expressed confidence that it is necessary to further strengthen this cooperation. According to the Deputy Minister, the initiative of the Armenian National Agrarian University is important in regard to the implementation of the Government's educational policy.

“The University is working hard to introduce such new qualifications and specialties that will best contribute to meeting the requirements of the labor market and the implementation of Government’s strategic programs,” stated Arthur Martirosyan, expressing hope that in the future there will be similar cooperation with other RA universities.

President of “Aratos Group” Nikos Bogonikolos, in turn, noted that in addition to the master's program in Precision Agriculture, cooperation will contribute to the development of the university's capabilities. He underlined the important role of the Armenian community in Greece in cooperation with Armenia and the integration of Armenian universities into the European educational environment.

According to the rector of the Armenian National Agrarian University Vardan Urutyan, the professional potential of the "Aratos Group" partners and rich international experience will be very useful to the university, which is on the way to becoming a center of agro-technological excellence. He expressed confidence that the collaboration with the company will make the university more competitive in the national and European educational environment.

Representatives of the “Aratos Group” company also visited the National Agrarian University of Armenia, where they got acquainted with the activities of the research center for water and soil resources management, the incubator of agricultural technologies, and the innovative educational greenhouse.
