A regular meeting of the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) meeting was held, which was hosted and coordinated by the Republic of Slovenia under the co-chairmanship of the Republic of Armenia.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting was held in an online format. It was co-chaired by the Republic of Slovenia as the host country and the Republic of Armenia. The two countries jointly co-chaired the Bologna Follow-up Group for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2021. According to the BFUG regulations, the Bologna Process is co-chaired every six months by two EHEA member countries.

The Armenian representatives of the Bologna Follow-Up Group participated in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, as representatives of the BFUG co-chairing countries, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Slovenia Mitja Slavinec and RA ESCS Deputy Minister Karen Trchunyan delivered welcoming speeches.

According to RA ESCS Deputy Minister Karen Trchunyan, Armenia attaches great importance to its membership in the European Higher Education Area, being an active and full member of the Bologna Follow-Up Group. He presented the strategic directions and further programs of the Ministry in the field of higher education and research, underlining the importance of programs aimed at strengthening ties between higher education, research and innovation of the EHEA, and noted that Armenia is currently working towards full integration into the European Research Area.

During the meeting, the working groups of the BFUG and the Advisory Committee members presented the information on the activities in progress, and the Bologna Secretariat presented the current state of the process.
