By the Decision of the RA Prime Minister, the Armenian Delegation headed by ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan left for Georgia (Tbilisi) to participate in the regular meeting of the Armenian-Georgian cooperation working group in the field of education.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The signatories were ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan and First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ekaterine Dgebuadze.
According to the Memorandum, the cooperation will be expanded in several directions: the parties will foster the exchange of experience to improve the training and evaluation systems of teachers of the two countries, the Assessment and Testing Center operating under the ESCS Ministry will assist in the development of a task bank consisting of 100 questions intended for the examination of the professional qualifications of teachers of the Armenian language and literature, working in schools in Georgia.
The parties discussed issues related to the exchange of experience in providing school meals, as well as the activities of the National Center for the Development of Education and Innovation, the specifics of educational reforms, etc. The Armenian Delegation made lots of reports relating to the education sector, in particular, "Upgrading the State General Education Programs According to Internationally Recognized Standards - STEM Education”, “Professional Development of Secondary School Teachers: New Approaches to Teaching and Certification", "Distance Learning and the Implementation of IT in Schools", "Implementation of a School Nutrition Program", "Implementation of a Joint Teacher Training Program, Teaching Armenian and Georgian in Schools", "Implementation of Joint Cultural and Educational Extracurricular Programs", "Scholarships Provided Within the Framework of Interstate Cooperation", etc.
Within the framework of the visit, the Armenian Delegation visited school №103 in Tbilisi, where Armenian classes operate. RA Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan greeted the students, teachers, inquired about their concerns and current issues.
