RA Acting Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan and Minister of Youth and Sports of Lebanese Republic Vartine Ohanian today signed a letter of intent on cooperation between the two departments in the field of youth and sports. According to ESCS Acting Minister Vahram Dumanyan, this document is a new incentive for the development of cooperation between Armenia and Lebanon in the field of youth and sports.
“Dear Madam Minister, welcome to the Republic of Armenia, to your historical homeland․ I am glad that we have managed to register our intention to develop the Armenian-Lebanese relations in the field of youth and sports, which I am sure will further be followed by practical steps. Thus, we reaffirm our willingness to strengthen and develop our friendly relations with the Lebanese Republic and our long-standing close ties,” said V. Dumanyan and expressed confidence that the signing of the document will also contribute to the advancement of relations with the Armenian community of Lebanon.
Vartine Ohanian emphasized that she is proud to visit Armenia as the special representative of the President of the Republic of Lebanon Michel Aoun, to participate in the commemoration of the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and to sign a letter of intent with the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
“Thank you. I am very happy for this occasion. I would like to highlight the importance of signing the letter of intent and assure that the historical friendship of the two states and peoples will be further strengthened in bilateral cooperation, in particular in the field of youth and sports. The youth of Lebanon are now facing serious challenges and difficulties, especially in the labor market. Many, unable to use their potential in their home country, emigrate. Therefore, I hope that the exchange of experience between our countries and the practical implementation of this document will help young people overcome these difficulties,” stated V. Ohanian and thanked for the partnership.
ESCS Acting Minister Vahram Dumanyan and Minister of Youth and Sports of the Lebanese Republic Vartine Ohanian assured that the results of signing the letter of intent will not be long in coming.
By signing the letter of intent, the Ministers express their intention to expand cooperation in the field of youth and sports, based on the principles of reciprocity, mutual understanding and mutual benefit. Further arrangements for the implementation of the letter of intent will further be discussed between the parties.
