On March 1, 2020, a meeting of the Board of Trustees of H. Tumanyan State University of Vanadzor was held, at which Rustam Sahakyan was elected rector of Vanadzor State University.
“I congratulate Rustam Sahakyan and express confidence that thanks to his contacts and wide opportunities, the new rector will make Vanadzor State University a developing and international university in the region,” stated the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan.
