The meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) was held in Vancouver, Canada, during which the joint bid of Armenia and Georgia to host the 2029 U-20 World Cup was recognized as the winner.

The Armenian matches will be held in Yerevan, Vanadzor and Ijevan.

The President of the Football Federation of Armenia Armen Melikbekyan, and the President of the Football Federation of Georgia, Levan Kobiashvili, also had a meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino today. During the meeting with the latter, the Presidents of the Football Federations of Armenia and Georgia noted that it is a great honor and responsibility to host the 2029 World Youth Championship. The heads of the football departments of the two countries expressed their gratitude to the FIFA football family for such high trust in Armenia and Georgia.

During the meeting, the parties reiterated their willingness to combine all their potential and efforts to organize a high-level football tournament. Armen Melikbekyan and Levan Kobiashvili emphasized that both countries are determined to turn the 2029 World Cup into a real football celebration, distinguished by excellent organization and a unique atmosphere of hospitality.
