RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received today a delegation led by Stella Renita, Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Regional Representation for the South Caucasus. ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan also attended the meeting.
The parties discussed programs and future initiatives in the field of education, implemented in cooperation with the European Investment Bank, highlighting the possibilities for their expansion. Minister Zhanna Andreasyan underscored the significance of efficient and sustained cooperation with the EIB, especially with regard to human capital development, educational infrastructure advancement, and ensuring access to quality education.
Particular emphasis was placed on the work carried out within the framework of the “Resilient Syunik Team Europe” initiative. It was noted that with the support of the EIB, work is currently underway in Syunik region to improve and advance infrastructure in the field of vocational education, within the framework of which it is also planned to repair, upgrade and re-equip two secondary vocational institutions and replenish them with property and modern educational laboratories.
The ESCS Minister emphasized that the vocational education and training system should serve as the backbone of the regional economy, preparing specialists who are well equipped to integrate into the labour market.
Zhanna Andreasyan also presented the priorities of the RA Government in the education sector, emphasizing the anticipated collaboration within the next phase of the program for the construction, reconstruction and renovation of schools and kindergartens, and other important initiatives planned in the education sector.
Head of the European Investment Bank Regional Representation for the South Caucasus, Stella Renita expressed gratitude for the reception, emphasizing the significance of productive and continuous cooperation with the ESCS Ministry.
At the end of the meeting, the parties also discussed various other issues of mutual interest, reiterating their commitment to strengthen cooperation.
