RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreyasyan convened a meeting with representatives of sports federations to discuss sectoral issues and summarize the year-end results.

ESCS Deputy Minister Hasmik Avagyan, Secretary General Hasmik Hakobyan, and Director of the Sports Management Centre Khoren Zargaryan also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Minister addressed the funding of the federations, noting, that after the Government's review of the per diem and lodging rates for training camps, there was an issue with fully including the corresponding amounts in the annual budgets, which will be addressed in next year's budget allocations:

"Sufficient funding will be allocated to organize training camps in accordance with the proportions set by the RA Government," Zhanna Andreasyan noted, stressing that the deadline for submitting applications is December 10, so it is important that federations submit the required documents completely and on time.

The ESCS Minister also highlighted the development program for each sport, noting that it enables a clear understanding of the federation's vision, the goals set for one-, two-, and three-year periods, and the outcomes that can be achieved with state support.

The meeting also addressed the issue of purchasing air tickets for athletes. The new procedure approved by the RA Government, which will enter into force in February, 2026, facilitates the process. Accordingly, it will be possible to purchase both individual and group (10 or more) air tickets through search engines approved by the Government's decision.

Next, Zhanna Andreasyan touched upon the activities of the Sports Management Centre, noting that the management of the activities of the federations will continue to be carried out through the structure. In 2026 Federations of boxing, shooting, chess, basketball, taekwondo, judo, diving, traditional wushu, table tennis and equestrian sport will join this new system, which was introduced a year ago. The Sports Management Centre will ensure the organization of administrative and financial processes, while the federations will focus primarily on sporting activities.

"Federations will be able to upload information on championship participants and results, which will contribute to a more transparent and efficient system, covering everything from medal tracking to the allocation of nominal pensions.," the ESCS Minister said, referring to the introduction of the sports management information system and the completion of the database.

Zhanna Andreasyan also touched upon the new Olympic allowance program, stating that in preparation for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the procedure for providing sports allowances to athletes, head (senior) coaches of national teams, assistant and personal coaches, doctors, and massage therapists has already been approved and will come into force starting in January.

The meeting with representatives of sports federations also addressed issues such as the provision of sports uniforms, coach training programs, revision of athletes' remuneration, regulations for organizing Armenian championships and domestic tournaments, and other topics.
