ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan today attended one of the most anticipated events of the Armenian technological community, the “EdTech Talks by Armath” conference, held within the framework of "DigiTec 2025", which focused on technological education and the use of technologies in education.
During the educational conference organized by “Armath” today, leaders of various educational programs and non-formal institutions operating in the Republic of Armenia held panel discussions and delivered speeches, sharing their vision, experience, and insights on education.
Welcoming the participants of the educational conference, Zhanna Andreasyan underlined that educational programs within “DigiTec” are becoming increasingly prominent and visible each year. Referring to the proficient use of technologies in education, the ESCS Minister noted that it is a key agenda issue.
“Our issues differ, but they are related to the literacy of using technology in education, the correct use of opportunities, and new perspectives for development. These are challenges that, both on an individual level, will guide us toward a new path of development, and open up new prospects for the education system, as well as help advance the competitiveness of our education system at the international level,” stated Zhanna Andreasyan and emphasized that the competitiveness of the educational system and the export of educational products are the key directions of the “RA Education Development State Program until 2030”.
In this regard, Zhanna Andreasyan noted that there are products in the Armenian education system today that relate specifically to technological education and are successfully exported: “I am very pleased that all our programs in this area stem from cooperation between the state and private organizations active in this field, which is the most appropriate approach to development.”
Along with success stories, Zhanna Andreasyan also underlined the significance of discussions on existing issues. On this note, the ESCS informed that a “Strategic Program for the Development of the Science Sector of the Republic of Armenia for 2026-2030” and the action plan deriving from it have been submitted for public discussion.
The strategy outlines four key directions, along with clear qualitative and quantitative indicators, aimed at fostering internationally competitive research and scientific results in areas of state priority and importance. It builds on the substantial investments and reforms the Government has implemented in the field of science in recent years to strengthen the country’s social and economic development.
“This document should also aim to diagnose the issues in technological education, research, and scientific development, and to identify the appropriate tools to address them. I hope that our discussions these days will be reflected in strategic documents and our upcoming actions,” Zhanna Andreasyan said, wishing the conference participants a successful session.
The ESCS Minister also congratulated on the 2807th anniversary of capital Yerevan, considering it symbolic to hold such discussions during the holidays. As stated by Zhanna Andreasyan, technological education is central to fostering a more innovative and comfortable city.
The ESCS Minister also toured the “DigiTec” exhibition and got acquainted with the pavilions.
On the sidelines of the educational conference, ESCS Deputy Ministers Araksia Svajyan and Arthur Martirosyan participated in the panel discussions “New World, Old Education: What are we really Teaching Children, and How” and “Exporting Education: Armenia as a Powerful EdTec Centre,” respectively, and Chairman of the Higher Education and Science Committee Sargis Hayotsyan delivered a speech.
“DigiTec” is the largest and most influential technology platform in the region. It presents Armenia as a technological hub with high potential, bringing together more than 300 companies, 40,000 visitors, more than 100 investors and venture capital representatives, as well as leading specialists from different parts of the globe. The 20th anniversary “DigiTec” is presented in a new and more comprehensive format, as a combination of an exhibition, an international conference, and a festival.
