Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mr. Mehdi Sobhani. ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan also attended the meeting.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, highlighted the recent visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to the Republic of Armenia, expressing confidence that the agreements signed during the visit will enhance the cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the fields of art, cultural heritage, tourism, and handicrafts, as well as foster the implementation of new initiatives.

Referring to the upcoming visit of the RA ESCS delegation to Iran on September 6-8, the parties highlighted the significance of bilateral meetings, as well as the signing of new documents on bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and sports, as a new opportunity to further strengthen the centuries-old ties between the two countries.

On September 6, a concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra will be held at the Persepolis complex in Iran.

“The exceptional concert will not only promote the popularization of Armenia's cultural heritage but will also mark a milestone in Armenia-Iran cultural relations,” the Minister said.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani announced that he will conclude his mission in the Republic of Armenia in September.

"I have been, and will remain, a friend of the Armenian people, leaving Armenia with cherished memories," said the Ambassador, expressing gratitude for the close cooperation in the fields of culture and education.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan also expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his efforts in strengthening the centuries-old ties between the two countries throughout his tenure.

Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
