The music and tourism festival “Festivar” will be held for the third time with the funding of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Public Television Company. This year's “Festivar” cities are Artashat, Hrazdan and Armavir, with dates August 23, September 13 and September 21, respectively.
This was announced today by ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and Executive Director of Public Television Company Hovhannes Movsisyan during a press conference held at the “Armenpress” news agency.
“Holding the festival for the third time shows that it is long-awaited, and, moreover, there is great potential to revive cultural life in our regions. This year, we will have our first “Festivar” on August 23, followed by September 13 and September 21, the Independence Day of our country, which will create additional opportunities for celebrating this significant holiday,” the ESCS Minister said.
She pointed out that according to the logic of the festival, it should be held in different regions and cities every year, covering a wider geography.
As Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized, in addition to being a music event, the “Festivar” is also an environment to foster domestic tourism. Sales exhibitions are organized as part of the “Festivar”, and the host settlements receive a large number of visitors, advancing the hotel business and restaurant services.
“The program also includes visits to neighbouring historical and cultural monuments and sites: it is important to us that the “Festivar” also serves as a meaningful opportunity to discover our country,” the Minister said, calling on the public to participate in the events.
She stated that this program holds great significance for the Ministry, having paved the way for the reconsideration and planning of other events.
Concluding her remarks, Zhanna Andreasyan thanked her colleagues for the successful and continuous collaboration and expressed confidence that this year will also set a new benchmark for a high-quality concert program and entertainment.
Executive Director of the Public Television Company, Hovhannes Movsisyan presented the details of the festival. Accordingly, on August 23, as part of the “Festivar”, a concert by singer Saro Tovmasyan (Saro) will be held in Artashat, accompanied by “Karen Sevak” Band. There will also be a sales exhibition of local goods, and tourist vehicles will be provided to transport event participants to the region's attractions. The next event within the framework of the “Festivar” will be held on September 13 in Hrazdan, where Harut Pambukchyan's solo concert (“Dzakh Harut”), accompanied by Karen Sevak Band, will take place. On September 21, Independence Day, various artists will perform in the central square of Armavir, accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, whose names will be announced in the near future.
“This year, the ESCS Ministry has increased its financial allocations, and unlike in previous years, all three concerts will be held on a much larger scale,” Hovhannes Movsisyan said.
The events will be held on non-working days to provide an opportunity for the citizens to participate in them.
