Within the framework of her official visit to the Republic of Estonia, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan had a meeting with Minister of Culture of the Republic of Estonia Heidy Purga.

The Ministers of the two countries discussed the advancement of cultural relations between Armenia and Estonia, with a particular focus on collaboration within the framework of international organizations, such as UNESCO, and the “Cultural Routes” of the Council of Europe. The significance of implementing joint cultural programs in various fields, creating new platforms for intercultural dialogue and experience exchange, was highlighted.

Zhanna Andreasyan informed that the ESCS Ministry is currently implementing legislative changes aimed at commercializing the creative sector, theatre and concert organizations. She touched upon the huge potential of the creative industry in Armenia, pointing out that if international integration and the promotion of local talents continue, this sector can become one of the main pillars of the country's economic development.

The Ministers highlighted the prospects for organizing joint exhibitions and concert programs, through cooperation between museums and concert organizations, respectively. In this context, the significance of promoting inter-museum cooperation and the advancement of the field was highlighted. Minister Zhanna Andreasyan presented the activities of the Cultural Development Foundation established in Armenia last year. According to the Minister, the new structure aims to promote the management and marketing policy of the museum sector while also enhancing the internationalization of museums.

The parties also attached particular significance to cooperation in the field of cinema, encouraging joint film production projects and participation, in particular, in the Tallinn “Black Nights” and Yerevan “Golden Apricot” international film festivals. The potential for expanding and enhancing cooperation between the Estonian Film Institute and the Armenian Film Foundation was also discussed in this regard.

Other topics of bilateral interest were also discussed at the meeting.
