Dear dance artists, dear friends,
UNESCO's international calendar marks April 29 as International Dance Day.
Dance gives a person freedom by expressing their emotions and feelings in various life situations through music and body movements. It is comprehensible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, religious beliefs or national identity. Dance is also a vital component of our children's physical education and socialization, which should be manifested in diverse cultural educational environments.
The RA Government is always ready to stand by good ideas that enhance the sector, fostering the advancement of Armenian dance, the production of new ballet and dance performances, and the proper presentation of dance to the international community. It is noteworthy that the Government supports the annual modern dance festival: this year, we also anticipate new interesting dance performances with approved grant programs.
Every year on April 29, Armenia too lives and breathes dancing: concerts of various bands, outdoor dance events are organized, words of gratitude are heard, and awards are presented.
This year, at the initiative of the ESCS Ministry, dance groups from the regions of Armenia and Yerevan will participate in the dance event. Our traditional Kochari, which is included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, will be played at exactly 6:00 PM, inviting all dance lovers to dance.
I am sure that the dance-loving public will be delighted to participate in this festive campaign.
Dear dance artists, congratulations on your professional holiday, may you have new creative inspirations and full halls."
Happy International Dance Day.
