People's Artist of Armenia Vladimir Margaryan (Valmar) celebrates his 77th birthday today. The artist traditionally holds an annual birthday exhibition as a report of the year to himself and the artistic community: this time, his self-portraits from various years were displayed.
Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan, and artists attended the opening of the exhibition.
At the exhibition of self-portraits, the master presents paintings and graphic works since 1970, revealing the pillars of his art and life: God, homeland, family and work.
Congratulating the artist, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan said: “Self-portraits from different years also reflect the history of our country, since it includes many crucial and fateful periods. Public emotions characteristic of historical periods are reflected in them. I am glad that there is the tradition, according to which Valmar annually organizes an exhibition on his anniversary. We are looking forward to the next exhibition.”
“I derive the energy to create from my soil and water, from my country. Art holds significant importance in our lives. When a child grows up close to the emotional world of art, he develops the traits of falling in love, seeing the beauty, and loving his homeland, since his emotional world is awake,” said Valmar, presenting the content of his works.
