On the occasion of the Armenian Cinema Day, a number of cinematographers and employees of the sector were awarded medals, diplomas and letters of appreciation from the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan handed the awards. Deputy Minister Daniel Danielyan also attended the award ceremony. The event was held within the framework of the 2nd Professional Guilds Awards Ceremony organized by the Union of Film Professionals of Armenia.

“Celebrating Armenian Cinema Day for the 102nd time is a great event, first of all, in terms of recognition, dissemination and appreciation of our legacy. More than a century of history has been shaped by the daily dedication and work of cinematographers. On this special day, we celebrate accomplishments, envision the future, and acknowledge those who are thankful,” said the Minister, congratulating the representatives of the sector.

According to her, cinema is not only history, but also a significant path in the advancement of public life. The Government's decision last week approved the procedure for partial rebate of investments in film production, which, according to the Minister, will give a new pace to film production. Zhanna Andreasyan expressed hope that, thanks to the opportunities provided by the order, new perspectives will open up for presenting our country through cinema and making it more identifiable. The Minister also highlighted the 2nd Professional Guilds Awards as a significant step towards changes in the sector.

On the occasion of the Armenian Cinema Day, the Chief Fund Manager of the Film Heritage Department of the Cinema Foundation of Armenia, Larisa Stepanyan, was awarded the Medal of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports for her contribution to the preservation of Armenian film heritage and the development of cinematography, and Tsovinar Soghomonyan for her significant contribution and investment in the development and popularization of documentary films. Certificates of honour and letters of appreciation were awarded to other representatives of the sector.
