Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited today the newly built Gandzakar Secondary School in Tavush region. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures David Khudatyan, Governor of Tavush Hayk Ghalumyan and other officials accompanied the Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan and the ESCS Minister toured the school and got acquainted with the conditions created.

The school was constructed with the co-funding of the RA Government and the Asian Development Bank as part of the Seismic Safety Improvement Program. The total cost of the program was AMD 2 billion 58 million. As a result of the program, a school was built for 480 students. Construction of the school began in August 2021 and was completed in November 2024.

The former school building was demolished and a new one was completely built on the site. The school comprises five buildings: educational, sports, and event halls. The school has a separate boiler house for heating, and a 24-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system is installed on the roof. The school has two elevators adapted for people with mobility impairments.

The Prime Minister congratulated the students and teachers on the organization of the educational process at the new school, referring in his speech also to the program “300 Schools, 500 Kindergartens”.
