ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan met with the Head of Education Reform at the Cambridge Partnership for Education, Europe, Central Asia, and America, Steve King.

ESCS Deputy Minister Araksia Svajyan also attended the meeting.

ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the guest and highlighted that the Armenian education system is undergoing active reforms, and various programs are being implemented in this direction with international partners.

“We highly appreciate the execution of joint programs with international partners, aimed at enhancing the quality of our education system and are open to discussing fruitful collaboration opportunities,” noted Zhanna Andreasyan.

The meeting specifically referred to issues on general education national assessment, teacher skills development, and textbook production processes.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan informed that the new standard of general education is being introduced in public schools in Armenia, which also includes the introduction of a new assessment system. According to the Minister, the standard was initially piloted in Tavush region, receiving positive feedback from both teachers and students.

The Cambridge representative thanked for the hospitality and noted that meetings and discussions regarding the field were held with the “Ayb” and “Teach for Armenia” Foundations. He also expressed willingness to discuss the prospects of implementing joint programs with the ESCS Ministry to advance the reforms.

Other issues of bilateral interest were discussed at the meeting.
