RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received today the delegation headed by Director of the International Committee of the Francophonie Games (CIJF) Zeina Mina.

Deputy Ministers Arthur Martirosyan and Daniel Danielyan also attended the meeting.

Welcoming the guests, the ESCS Minister thanked for approving Armenia’s bid and trusting our country to hold the 10th Jubilee Games of Francophonie.

“We take this important commitment of hosting the Games with great responsibility: we will spare no effort to make the games to be held in Armenia in 2027 the best in the history of the tournament in terms of organization and quality. Your assistance and guidance are also very important in this endeavour,” noted Zhanna Andreasyan.

Several issues regarding the preparation for the Francophonie Games were addressed during the meeting, focusing on the establishment of national and technical committees for the event organization, along with the necessary infrastructure. Representatives of the International Committee of the Francophonie Games reported that during the 5-day visit, they visited many sports and cultural institutions, had meetings with representatives of various sports federations, and discussed organizational issues of holding sports events.

CIJF Director Zeina Mina expressed confidence that Armenia will honourably host the 10th Jubilee Games of the Francophonie. Issues of ensuring participants' accommodation, transportation, and safety, as well as necessary conditions for organizing media activities and broadcasting the games, were addressed.

Regarding preparations for the games, the participation of volunteers was discussed, highlighting that French-speaking students from universities and high schools will be involved in these activities. In this respect, the significance of promoting the spread of the French language in Armenia, along with fostering close collaboration with educational institutions teaching in French, was highlighted.

Note that the signing ceremony of the agreement on holding the 2027 Francophonie Sports and Cultural Games will be held at the end of June in Paris.

Various other organizational issues were also considered during the meeting.
