RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies

ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the partnership between Armenia and France: “Armenian-French relations have a historical basis and a sustainable foundation. We are closely cooperating with our French partners in various fields and are willing to extend them and consider ideas of implementing new programs.”

Thankful for the reception, Ambassador Olivier Decottignies expressed hope that successful cooperation with the French side will continue in the fields under the coordination of the ESCS Ministry.

During the meeting, a reference was made to the issues of cooperation in the field of education, in particular, the importance of advancing French language teaching programs, and extending cooperation in VET. In this regard, the parties touched upon the issues of organizing training based on the localization of the French model at the Tavush Regional College of Patrick Devedjian.

At the end of the meeting, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan touched upon the humanitarian crisis caused by the blockade of the Lachin corridor in Nagorno-Karabakh. Zhanna Andreasyan also stressed the issue of the threat to cultural the heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh.
