RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan and Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Viktor Richter.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the ESCS Minister highlighted the importance of the efficient continuation of the Armenian-German cooperation in the educational, scientific, cultural and sports sectors.
She also noted that Armenia has a broader agenda for strengthening and expanding cooperation.
Pointing to Germany’s efficient experience in the field of education, the ESCS Minister noted the importance of advanced German language teaching and retraining of teachers in general education schools of the Republic of Armenia.
Zhanna Andreasyan called the program of Armenian-German cooperation in the field of secondary vocational education a priority, as a result of which dual education was introduced in a number of VET institutions of the RA.
The parties also discussed the development of inter-university cooperation, emphasizing the importance of the exchange of teachers, young scientists, and students and the implementation of joint educational and research programs.
Zhanna Andreasyan noted that there is also a dynamic development of cooperation in the field of science, as evidenced by the publication of a number of scientific articles by Armenian scientists in renowned German magazines.
A reference was made to the programs implemented with the assistance of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the importance of expanding the activities of the Goethe Center in Yerevan
The ESCS Minister stated that cooperation in the field of culture is also proceeding efficiently: there are prospects for collaboration in cinematography and music.
Ambassador Viktor Richter thanked for the warm welcome and willingness.
He highly appreciated the continuation of the Armenian-German cooperation in these areas, stressing that he is ready to contribute to the efficient implementation of the planned programs.
The Ambassador and the Minister also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
