A memorandum of intent was signed today between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the “St. Gregory the Illuminator” Charitable organization to establish a Ukrainian-Armenian International School (UAIS) in Odesa.

ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “St. Gregory the Illuminator” Charitable Foundation Suren Sardaryan, and ESCS Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan participated in the signing ceremony which was held remotely.

According to the memorandum, the parties will be consistent in providing Armenian education to the representatives of the Armenian community of Ukraine by teaching the Armenian language, Armenian history and culture.

The ESCS Minister highlighted the importance of the establishment of the Armenian International School in Odessa and noted that the memorandum will contribute to the organization of educational and cultural activities through joint efforts.

“Cooperation will create additional opportunities for new developments and will become an effective platform for promoting professional dialogue between educational institutions of the two countries. The experience of the Republic of Armenia and Ukraine in the field of education will be effectively used in the process of developing educational and extracurricular programs, creating a basis for their further expansion,” said Zhanna Andreasyan,

The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Serhiy Shkarlet, thanked for the cooperation, expressing hope that the Armenian-Ukrainian cooperation will include new initiatives in the future.

During the meeting, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the school and the educational institutions of Armenia.
