Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a member of the Armenian women's chess team, winner of the World and European Youth Chess Championships Mariam Mkrtchyan and her coach Zaven Andriasyan. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan and Deputy Minister Karen Giloyan attended the meeting.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Mariam Mkrtchyan on her victory, emphasizing that the state attaches great importance to supporting the development of talents and implementing programs to achieve new sports victories in Armenia: “The history of chess in Armenia has already made its objective contribution, and we only have to conduct the right policy and implement this policy.

We are now considering the possibility of creating a talent support fund in Armenia. The Government's policy on this issue is universal: to create the maximum opportunity for our children to disclose their talent both in education, culture, sports and other fields.”

The Prime Minister underlined that work will be carried out to disclose hidden talents under some circumstances and create platforms for a greater manifestation of their diligence.

Issues related to the further advancement of chess in Armenia were discussed at the meeting. The participants exchanged views on the possibilities of holding international chess tournaments in our country and the State's programs for the promotion of the field
