RA ESCS Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Benin to the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Akambi André Okounlola-Biaou (residence in Moscow).

Head of the Department for Foreign Relations and Diaspora of the MoESCS Arkady Papoyan also attended the meeting.

Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him fruitful work.

The Deputy Minister presented the scope of coordination of the ESCS Ministry, thereby emphasizing possible fields for cooperation.

Zhanna Andreasyan also noted that the Armenian Diaspora in the Republic of Benin greatly contributes to the dissemination and popularization of Armenian culture, traditions and history there.

Ambassador Akambi André Okounlola-Biaou thanked for the warm welcome and expressed hope that this meeting is just the beginning of further enhanced cooperation.

During the meeting, possible perspectives for effective cooperation in the fields of higher education and science were considered. According to the Ambassador, education is in the first place at the core of their plans.

The parties touched upon inter-university cooperation, the participation of students in scientific conferences, and the possibilities of implementing joint projects.

Akambi André Okounlola-Biaou inquired about the terms of the study of foreign students in Armenian higher education institutions, in response to which the head of the Department for Foreign Relations and Diaspora of the ESCS Ministry Arkady Papoyan briefly presented the procedure for admission to RA HEIs, stressing that Armenia has extensive experience in working with foreign students.

The perspectives of realizing the mutual potential in the fields of culture, sports, and youth were also considered. Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan expressed her willingness to assist and emphasized that the Ministry is open and ready to assist in solving any issue.
