RA Deputy Ministers of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arthur Martirosyan and Alfred Kocharyan convened a working discussion with the head of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) EU4Business “Innovative Tourism and Technology Development for Armenia” Project Wilhelm Hugo.

ESCS Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan highlighted the importance of the programs implemented with the support of GIZ in the VET sector, stressing that in this regard GIZ is a good example and plays a major role, including in terms of cooperation with other organizations. The Deputy Minister also emphasized the cooperation of the GIZ with the Science Committee and informed those present that the other day the National Assembly adopted the law on “Ratification of the agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union on the participation of the Republic of Armenia in the “Horizon Europe” Framework Program for Research and Innovationas a result of which Armenian scientists will benefit from the EU cooperation program.

During the meeting, the parties also considered the possibilities of advancing the cooperation with the German Development Cooperation in the field of culture, in particular, the implementation of joint programs in the fields of cultural heritage, creative industry, and contemporary art.

ESCS Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan highlighted the importance of cooperation in the field of cultural tourism, presenting the priorities of the state in the field of culture.

During the meeting, the importance of introducing modern tools aimed at upgrading the ticket economy of cultural organizations was underlined. Issues of cultural heritage, related to the environment, and the possibility of implementing relevant programs were also touched upon.

The head of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) EU4Business “Innovative Tourism and Technology Development for Armenia” Project Wilhelm Hugo, in turn, underlined the importance of cooperation with the Ministries of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports; the Economy, and the Tourism Committee regarding the climate change program.

The Deputy Ministers highlighted the issues of culture dissemination, implementation of programs aimed at capacity building of stakeholders in the sector, emphasizing the active engagement of development partners and the ongoing dialogue on these issues.
