RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan received today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Armenia Alexander Konyuk. Deputy Minister Arthur Martirosyan also attended the meeting.

Welcoming the Ambassador's visit to the Ministry and highlighting the importance of friendly relations between the two countries, Vahram Dumanyan expressed confidence that cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, sports, and youth should be further strengthened.

“The successful cooperation between our countries will provide the youth the opportunity to communicate with each other, and the best way to do this is through education, culture, and sport,” noted the Minister adding that the two countries have much in common particularly in the field of science and information technologies.

In turn, Alexander Konyuk pointed out the directions in which the Belarusian side is ready to take practical steps. In particular, the Ambassador highlighted the possible cooperation between A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet National Academic Theatre and the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus. In this regard, the importance of mutual visits of theater artists was underlined.

The parties also touched upon the implementation of student exchange programs, discussing the possibility of signing an intergovernmental agreement in the field of higher education and science. The Minister and the Ambassador also underlined the importance of advancing cooperation in the field of sports.

At the meeting, the parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest and reached an agreement on undertaking practical steps.
