Within the framework of the jubilee events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Henri Verneuil, the RA ESCS Minister Vahram Dumanyan had a meeting with the CEO of the Greater Paris University Hospitals Martin Hirsch.

Various issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. The ESCS Minister of the Republic of Armenia noted that Armenia and France have established special interstate relations on the basis of the historically formed friendship between the Armenian and French peoples over the past 30 years since independence. He also expressed deep gratitude for the medical assistance provided by France to Armenian soldiers during the war.

Within the framework of the support provided by France, the importance of the advancement of rehabilitation medicine in Armenia was highlighted, as a result of which it will also be possible to transform education and research programs and create fundamental conditions for the development of medical education and research in Armenia, upgrading them to a qualitatively new level.

The Minister expressed confidence that in the scope of the cooperation with Greater Paris University Hospitals Centre, it will also be possible to advance the processes of continuous training of doctors, as a result of which a full-fledged and up-to-date skills for professional doctors will be created.

Vahram Dumanyan noted that a forum on the care of the wounded during the 44-day war in Artsakh will be held in Yerevan this year, from October 13-15, in which more than 150 people, including from France, are expected to participate. The forum will introduce the outcomes of the Year of Cooperation between Armenia and France, which will also be included in the revision of educational and research programs.

At the end of the meeting, the RA ESCS Minister invited the head of the Center to Armenia and visit Yerevan State Medical University named after M. Heratsi and university hospitals. During the visit of Martin Hirsch, the full potential of medical education in Armenia will be best presented.
