The working visit of the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Karen Giloyan to Sofia has come to an end. In the capital of Bulgaria Karen Giloyan followed the performances of Armenian athletes at the last ranking wrestling tournament for the Olympic Games and met with many officials. In particular, the Deputy Minister had a meeting with the President of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Nenad Lalovic, Vice-President Mikhail Mamiashvili and president of the Officiating Commission Antonio Silvester.

During the conversation with Nenad Lalovic, issues related to possible programs for the exchange of experience of coaches, organization of seminars for coaching, refereeing and technical staff in Armenia were discussed. With the president of the Officiating Commission of the United World Wrestling Antonio Silvestre the ESCS Deputy Minister discussed the issue of having an Armenian representative in the officiating board of the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo. Most likely, referee Avetik Vardanyan will be included in the list of referees of the Olympic Games.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Bulgaria Armen Yedigaryan followed the performances of the Armenian wrestlers in Sofia with Karen Giloyan. He assured that the Armenian Embassy in Bulgaria is always ready to support the Armenian athletes participating in tournaments in that country.

It should be noted that Armen Melikyan (60 kg) and Karen Aslanyan (67 kg) won tickets in the last ranking wrestling tournament for the Olympic Games.
