RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan is on a working visit to Israel to participate in the "EducAItion 2026" Ministerial conference. It is dedicated to advancing personalized education policies in the era of artificial intelligence.

As part of the visit, the ESCS Minister had a meeting with Israeli Minister of Education Yoav Kisch today. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Israel Arman Hakobyan and Advisor to the ESCS Minister Arman Andrikyan also participated in the meeting.

Zhanna Andreasyan expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and the invitation to participate in the “EducAItion 2026” Ministerial Conference, underscoring that Armenia places high importance on strengthening cooperation with Israel in the field of education. As she stated, there is complementary potential and broad opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of innovative and technological education.

During the meeting, Zhanna Andreasyan presented the educational reforms currently implemented in Armenia, in particular, the introduction of artificial intelligence instruction in high schools. She informed that the “GENERATION AI” multi-level educational program has been implemented in Armenia since 2023, with the objective to establish a comprehensive educational pathway for training artificial intelligence scientists and innovators, spanning from high school to postgraduate education. As a successful example of AI integration into the education system, Zhanna Andreasyan also cited the “STEP.ai” Science and Technology Education program, launched in 2022 at the direct initiative of the private sector. Since 2024, the program has been expanded with the active involvement of the state, encompassing general education and secondary vocational education institutions across the Republic of Armenia.

The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of curriculum development, teacher training, STEM education, digital literacy, and innovative teaching techniques. Reference was also made to the advancement of technological and professional education, including the launch of joint programs in information technology, engineering disciplines, and digital skills, as well as to issued related to the exchange of specialists.

Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted that technological education is becoming one of Armenia's calling cards, highlighting the country's advanced experience in the field of non-formal education and presenting the TUMO Center's model of operation.

During the conversation, reference was also made to scientific research cooperation, academic exchange programs, the development of inter-university ties, as well as the reforms currently implemented in the RA higher education sector. In this context, Zhanna Andreasyan presented the new Law “On Higher Education and Science” and the Academic City project, underscoring that the reforms place strong emphasis on the internationalization of the sector and the involvement of foreign partners.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reiterated their commitment to strengthen bilateral, long-term collaboration in the field of education.

Within the framework of the visit, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, also had a meeting with the Minister of Culture and Sports of Israel, Miki Zohar.

The ministers addressed various issues of mutual interest in the fields of culture and sports.
