RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received a delegation led by Vice President of the Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Manoil Manev.

The meeting was also attended by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, Nikola Nikolov.

Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the guests and highlighted the close collaboration between the parliaments of Armenia and Bulgaria, which, according to the Minister, significantly contributes to the advancement of friendly and partnership relations between the two countries.

Emphasizing the willingness to expand joint initiatives and implement new programs, the Minister noted that Armenia-Bulgaria cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, sports, and youth has significant and still untapped potential.

Vice President of the Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Manoil Manev expressed his gratitude for the reception, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of higher education, culture and sports, including student exchange, joint cultural programs, as well as the development of sports infrastructure.

In reference to cooperation in the field of education, the ESCS Minister emphasized the importance of continuing the existing scholarship program and proposed discussing opportunities to develop further inter-university cooperation, student and lecturer exchanges, and new joint educational and research programs. In this regard, the strengthening of cooperation within the EU's “Erasmus+” and “Horizon Europe” programs has been emphasized. Zhanna Andreasyan also expressed willingness to share Armenia's advanced experience in non-formal education, highlighting the Tumo Centre’s model as an example.

The possibility of holding Armenian Culture Days in Bulgaria and Bulgarian Culture Days in Armenia was also discussed. The meeting addressed several other issues, including the development of cooperation in musical education, strengthening ties between the cultural institutions of both countries, and the implementation of joint programs.
