RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan had a meeting with the Minister of Culture of Georgia, Tinatin Rukhadze, as part of her working visit to Georgia.

ESCS Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan and Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan participated in the meeting.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted the significance of a close, friendly cooperation between the two states, as well as the opportunities for expanding joint programs in the field of culture. The ESCS Minister also highlighted the importance of cultural events organized in the two countries, as part of which Georgian Culture Days were held in Armenia on June 5-7, 2025.

Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the significance of the reopening of Vahan Teryan's house-museum in the village of Gandza on July 12, noting that joint participation in the opening ceremony will serve as an impetus for strengthening Armenia–Georgia cultural ties.

At the end of the meeting, a program was signed between the ministries of the two countries to continue cooperation in the field of culture for 2025-2027. The parties will encourage the exchange of information and specialists between relevant institutions and organizations of the two countries, as well as cooperation in the fields of literature, theatre, cinematography, music, fine arts, museums, librarianship, publishing, monuments and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.

Cultural events involving mutual participation will be encouraged, including music, film, dance and theatre festivals, as well as competitions and workshops.

It is also planned to consider the possibility of holding Armenian Culture Days in Georgia in 2026.

Taking into account the priorities of the countries, the parties will also cooperate on issues under the jurisdiction of UNESCO and other international organizations, within the framework of the “Creative Europe” program, as well as other programs funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

As part of the visit, Zhanna Andreasyan also toured the National Museum of Georgia and paid tribute at the Armenian Pantheon in Tbilisi by laying flowers at the graves of prominent Armenian writers and public figures.
