RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan met today with the participants of Armenia-Georgia youth gathering in Aparan, the Youth Capital 2025 of the Republic of Armenia.
During the three-day event, discussions and workshops were organized for Armenian and Georgian youth aimed at developing their leadership skills, promoting active citizenship, and increasing youth participation in community and public life.
Welcoming the participants of the gathering, Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the importance of communication, exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the formation of intercultural ties between Armenian and Georgian teenagers and youth. She underlined that such gatherings contribute to the mutual recognition of the unique characteristics of the cultures and traditions of the two peoples, the understanding of linguistic and geographical distinctions, and the strengthening of good-neighbourly relations and cooperation.
Presenting the state youth policy implemented in the Republic of Armenia, the Minister particularly touched upon the main provisions of the Law “On Youth Policy” and the support programs implemented by the state. Zhanna Andreasyan noted that the law was developed through a participatory process, undergoing several stages of public discussions and professional consultations.
As she stated, one of the key issues of youth policy is the proper awareness of young people about the opportunities created. Zhanna Andreasyan also emphasized the significance of the active involvement of young people in community life and the promotion of their initiatives.
The Minister then answered various questions from the participants of the gathering, related to both programmatic and personal development and participation opportunities.
During the discussion, the participants expressed their observations and presented suggestions for bilateral initiatives.
The Armenian-Georgian youth gathering is being held on July 9-11, with the support of the RA ESCS Ministry and organized by the “Youth Initiatives Center” NGO.
