Today, in Tavush region, 9th graders took a unified essay exam in “Armenian History” and “Literature”, aligned with the new standard for general education. ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and Deputy Minister Araksia Svajyan monitored the examination process at Dilijan Basic Schools № 2 and № 4.
The students were provided with excerpts of texts from Literature and History on the same topic and concept, and were expected to write an essay on each, demonstrating analytical skills and meeting the given criteria.
Zhanna Andreasyan wished the students success and exhorted them to focus and freely express their thoughts and analysis on the topic. She found it noteworthy that this exam will assess students' analytical abilities, not just their language proficiency.
67 students took the exam at Dilijan School № 2: overall, the school has 670 students. Dilijan school №4 has 505 students: 62 9th graders took the exam. Minister Zhanna Andreasyan toured the schools, got acquainted with the facilities, technical and laboratory equipment, and discussed the issues. She wondered whether there is an increase in interest in Natural Science subjects among children due to the introduction of laboratories, how actively students participate in sporting events, what successes they have achieved, etc. Having familiarized herself with the issues existing in schools, the Minister gave instructions on taking appropriate measures to address them.
During her trip to Tavush, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan also stopped at Hovh. Sharambeyan Museum of Folk Arts in Dilijan to get acquainted with the conditions of the building, renovated with funds from the ESCS Ministry, and the ongoing work on improving the area. The Minister also visited Tsovagyukh Youth Centre, which has been operating since April 2025. Zhanna Andreasyan inquired about the current issues and the measures taken to address them, the programs implemented at the centre, and whether schoolchildren and young people ensure active participation. According to the centre's manager, various programs have already been implemented, and an exhibition of paintings and handicrafts is also scheduled in the near future.
