Zhanna Andreasyan visited the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), where she met with Director Klen Jaarats.
Presenting the Center's activities, Klen Jaarats noted that, in line with Estonia's foreign policy, ESTDEV's activities aim to promote the digitization process, economic innovations, and education development.
In this regard, the parties discussed the issues of digitization of school and university education systems, modernization of vocational education, and sustainable development in schools.
“The challenges of the modern world require appropriate solutions aimed at the widespread use of information technologies and the introduction of digital tools in the process of organizing education. In this regard, we place a high value on collaboration, particularly with international partners, the exchange of experience and the creation of corresponding platforms,” ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan said.
Highlighting the significance of digitization in the ongoing education reforms in the Republic of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan referred to the implementation of a new standard for general education, and the introduction of mechanisms aimed at the efficient management of the general education sector, etc.
ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan also visited the Estonian e-Governance Academy (eGA) Centre for Excellence and got acquainted with the activities of the structure.
It was noted that the E-Governance Academy is a leading consulting organization for the digital transformation of societies, aimed at creating a comprehensive range of digital services. The e-Governance Technologies and Services (MSc) master's program, implemented by the Centre, was presented.
ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan highly appreciated the activities of the Academy, pointing out that the digitization process is also actively underway in Armenia in various areas. In this regard, the ESCS Minister presented Armenia's digitization strategy, in particular, referring to the education digitalization processes. The Minister mentioned that the “Generation AI” pilot program for high school students is currently being implemented in secondary schools in Armenia.
During the visit, topics related to cooperation opportunities were discussed, particularly emphasizing cooperation in the field of higher education.
