RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received the delegation headed by French Ambassador for Sport Samuel Ducroquet.

ESCS Deputy Ministers Arthur Martirosyan and Daniel Danielyan attended the meeting.

Issues concerning the organization of the 10th Francophonie Sports and Cultural Games 2027 were discussed.

ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan greeted the attendees and emphasized the significance of strategic relations between Armenia and France across various sectors. The Minister congratulated the partners on the International Day of Francophonie, noting that the two-month Francophonie events have been launched in Armenia.

Regarding the Francophonie Sports and Cultural Games to be held in Yerevan in 2027, Zhanna Andreasyan especially emphasized the significance of collaboration and sharing best practices with French partners in preparation for this major event.

In this context, the importance of potential cooperation with French companies that supported the organization of the Paris Olympic Games was highlighted.

“The Republic of Armenia will host around 4,000 participants from more than 50 delegations. We are impressed by the Olympic Games in Paris, the implementation of which was the best example,” noted ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, expressing hope that the Francophonie Games to be held in Armenia will also be organized at a proper level.

She informed her colleagues that by the decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, a National Committee for the Francophonie Games has been established, and a separate structure will be formed to prepare for the games.

The Minister underlined that the primary objectives of holding the Games are capacity building during the preparation phase, as well as dissemination and popularization of Francophone values ​​among the public. As part of the organizational activities, Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the significance of cooperation with the private sector, which, according to her, is enshrined in the sports development strategy.

The delegation members expressed their gratitude for the meeting and gave an overview of their activities aimed at organizing major events.

The parties considered additional issues related to the training of specialists engaged in organizational work and the efficient execution of work.
