ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan celebrated the holiday of March 8 together with those who have shaped public behaviour and values through education for decades, through their work with numerous students.

The Minister's first visit was to the residence of Svetlana Tonoyan, an honoured teacher of the Pushkin School № 8. Mrs. Tonoyan, who has been teaching Russian with dedication and responsibility for 55 years, notes that the main principle of a teacher is to prioritize the interests of the child.

To the question “Have you ever thought about quitting your profession?” the teacher answered briefly and decisively: “Never.”

The next stop on the holiday was the house of Greta Melkumyan, a History teacher at High School №119. She currently teaches Art, which, she claims, inspires great enthusiasm among the pupils.

March 8 is celebrated as International Women's Day, highlighting their role in various spheres of society. Women make up 85% of teachers in Armenia, which indicates their key role in the education system. The teacher's mission extends beyond the classroom: it is becoming an important factor in social development.
