Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan received the representatives of the European Training Foundation (ETF).
ESCS Deputy Ministers Arthur Martirosyan and Araksia Svajyanalso attended the meeting.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan greeted the participants, emphasizing the significance of collaborating with the ETF in the framework of large-scale educational reforms in Armenia and expressed willingness to continue it in various directions.
The core of the meeting was the “Supporting Education Reforms and Skills in the Eastern Partnership” (SER) program. The program is structured for a duration of three years, spanning from 2024 to 2026, and commenced in May 2024. The education reform assessment report was developed by the ETF and national experts in accordance with the Red (Rapid Education Diagnosis) methodology.
The partners highlighted that the SER program aims to enhance the skills of the Eastern Partnership countries and policy development and implementation processes through targeted actions, through the coordination of country-specific initiatives, as well as through mutual learning and networking.
The primary focus areas include education sector analysis and data-driven decision-making, teachers’ professional development, school optimization, sectoral and budget planning, and sector performance monitoring and assessment.
The Minister emphasized that the outcomes of the study will help to understand the subsequent actions deriving from them, especially given that the interim assessment of the educational strategy is currently in progress.
Other issues of mutual interest were considered at the meeting.
