As part of her official visit to Astana, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan had a meeting with Kazakhstan's Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek.

Armenian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Armen Ghevondyan also attended the meeting.

Regarding the strengthening of collaboration in the field of education, the parties emphasized the significance of developing inter-university ties and the necessity of collaborative educational and research initiatives as well as teacher and student exchange programs.

Within the framework of scientific collaboration, the Armenian and Kazakh Ministers addressed issues related to the expansion and advancement of cooperation in the fields of applied research and technology, biotechnology, chemical technologies and artificial intelligence.

At the meeting with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan presented the reforms implemented in the field of education in Armenia and touched upon the goals and objectives defined in higher education by the “RA Education Development State Program until 2030”.

Speaking about the work carried out in the direction of the internationalization of universities and strengthening ties between higher education and science, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan introduced the concept of “Academic City” of the RA Government program which states that by 2030 it is planned to create new and modern physical infrastructures and an environment corresponding to the best standards for consolidated universities and research organizations, where several universities will be located and operate in clusters.

According to her, capacity development programs for teaching staff and scientific researchers are also planned, as well as the expansion of international cooperative relations with the world's leading universities to facilitate the exchange of best practices in higher education and the realization of the academic city concept. In this context, Zhanna Andreasyan suggested considering the prospects of cooperation with higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.

The meeting also addressed the potential for a joint scientific study of Kipchak manuscripts housed in the Matenadaran - Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts.

Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed during the meeting.

Mayor of Astana Jenis Qasymbek accompanied the Minister.

The first stop was at the SANA Sports and Cultural Educational Complex, where Minister Zhanna Andreasyan got acquainted with the school's activities and infrastructure, including gyms for various sports. The ESCS Minister also toured the preschool section, as well as familiarized herself with the conditions of the building designated for art education. The activities of the educational complex were highlighted, in particular, in the context of state–private sector cooperation.

Zhanna Andreasyan later visited Riviera International School in Astana, where she explored the STEM laboratories, robotics classroom, library and gymnasium.

Mayor of Astana Jenis Qasymbek presented to the ESCS Minister the reforms carried out in the field of education, touched upon the programs for the construction and advancement of educational institutions, noting that the work is carried out within the framework of successful cooperation between the state and the private sector.
