Armenian Culture Days have launched in Kazakhstan today, which are attended by the delegation of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia headed by Minister Zhanna Andreasyan.
RA President Vahagn Khachaturian and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also attended the opening ceremony of the Culture Days.
Armenia's Culture Days are being held in Astana, Kazakhstan, at the Kalibek Kuanishbayev National Music and Drama Theatre. Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva also attended the event.
In her welcoming remarks, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan thanked the Presidents of the two countries for supporting this important cultural initiative and organizing the Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan.
“Presenting Armenian culture to Kazakhstan's culture enthusiasts is essential: particularly as the cultural program highlights the artistic legacies of renowned Armenian artists Charles Aznavour and Sergei Parajanov, which is no coincidence. The entire world is commemorating their 100th anniversary this year. It's also no coincidence that the theatrical troupe after Sos Sargsyan was chosen: Kazakhstani public surely knows and remembers Sos Sargsyan. All of them, in their unique style, emphasized the importance of mutual cultural recognition and interaction, demonstrating culture's unifying power through their lives and actions.
One of the most remarkable expressions of cultural dialogue between the peoples of Armenia and Kazakhstan are also the Kipchak manuscripts, which are kept with extreme care and diligence in Yerevan, in the Matenadaran - Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts,” noted ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan.
According to her, Armenia-Kazakhstan cultural cooperation continues to develop, encompassing nearly every field of art, providing a strong foundation for strengthening ties between the two states in other areas as well.
Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva also welcomed the event of holding Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan, wishing the participants creative inspiration and the audience - unforgettable impressions.
“The Days of Culture of friendly countries are essential international events, the key to fostering partnership relations between countries and peoples and a bridge of friendship. I am sure that the Days of Culture will become a new incentive for further advancement of cultural and spiritual values of the two countries,” she noted.
The Jazz Orchestra of Armenia, (director David Melkonyan), opened the Armenian Culture Days in Kazakhstan with a concert program honoring Charles Aznavour. Honoured Artist of Armenia Inga Arshakyan and laureate of international competitions Gor Sujian performed. The concert program also featured works by Komitas and Arno Babajanyan.
