At the RA Embassy in Germany, ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan met with the representative of the Armenian Studies Center of the University of Halle-Wittenberg, Armenologist-scientist Armenuhi Drost-Abgaryan and Director of the Lepsius House Museum Roy Knocke. Issues related to the preservation and advancement of Armenian studies in Germany were considered.

The representative of the Armenian Studies Center of the Halle-Wittenberg University Armenuhi Drost-Abgaryan, informed the Minister that an agreement had been reached on the translation of Grigor Narekatsi's poem “The Book of Lamentations” into German. Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to promoting and internationalizing Armenian culture, therefore it is ready to facilitate the translation of Narekatsi's masterpiece into German. The Minister also extended her gratitude to Armenuhi Drost-Abgaryan for her contributions to Armenian studies: the author of over 100 scientific research publications (monographs and articles in multiple languages: German, English, French, Russian, Armenian) has served as the director of the “Mesrop” Armenian Studies Center at the University of Halle-Wittenberg for many years.

In the meeting with Lepsius House-Museum Director Roy Knocke, the possible cooperation aimed at the promotion of Armenology, the possibility of various joint researches, including in the field of archival, archival work, in the direction of capacity building and training of relevant specialists, was discussed.

The Armenian Embassy in Germany also hosted a reception, which was attended by the Minister of Education of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, and education and culture sector representatives of the Armenian community.

In their speeches, RA ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan and RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany Viktor Yengibaryan introduced new projects and programs between Armenia and Germany.

As part of the visit to Germany, the RA delegation also met with Hartmut Dorgerloh, the General Director of the Humboldt Forum Foundation. Introducing the activities of the Forum, the President of the Foundation noted that it unites several educational and cultural initiatives and companies: the Heritage of Prussian Culture, the Ethnological Museum, several state museums of Berlin, Humboldt University and others.
