UNESCO recently hosted a global video conference with representatives from education, experts and practitioners from 50 countries. The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan also participated in the video conference.

The CEO of the National Center for Distance Education in France, Michel Reverchon Billiot highlighted the essential role of teachers in ensuring the continuity of learning. According to him, the responsible education authorities around the world are trying to provide students and teachers with the necessary technical conditions, thematic portals, online training programs, etc.

The essence of universality was emphasized. “The Ministers should consider the uniqueness of the situation and the fact that there is no common approach. We all need to learn from each other and build a stronger education system due to this crisis.” stated UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini.

“To make the distance learning inclusive, we need an integrated approach and a closer partnership” was one of the key conclusions of the video conference.
