61 educational and cultural institutions to be renovated and reconstructed, the statue of Karen Demirchyan to be installed

Large-scale capital construction and renovation works will be carried out in about 61 educational and cultural institutions at the expense of the savings of the funds allocated by the state budget to the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports for 2020. The statue of national statesman Karen Demirchyan will be installed. At today's sitting of the Government, at the suggestion of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan, the budget of the Ministry was redistributed, and more than 1 billion 906 million drams were allocated to capital programs. 60 million 14 thousand drams will be directed to the construction of the statue and pedestal of Karen Demirchyan. The rest of the sum will be allocated for the reconstruction, renovation and improvement works for 7 colleges, 46 public schools, 1 military training school, 4 museums, 3 theatres, halls, rooms, technical equipment, as well as project works. As a result of the redistribution, funds were allocated to the Urban Development Committee and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan inquired about the general programs of school construction. A. Ghularyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, presented the process of tender for construction projects, the actual construction works and the normative changes made to improve them. Within the framework of the allocation made by the Government, it is planned to carry out the following works, according to the institutions:

Renovation works in 7 colleges:
• Partial repair of bathrooms and classrooms of "Yerevan State Vocational School №6" SNCO
• Sports hall renovation in “Yerevan State College of Light Industry” SNCO
• Renovation of the session hall of "Yerevan State Technological College" SNCO
• Reconstruction of the floor of the dance hall of "Yerevan State College of Choreography" SNCO
• Provision of gas and partial heating at “Alaverdi State College” SNCO
• Renovation of the hall of "Kapan State College of Arts" SNCO
• Reconstruction of the building of "Ararat State Medical College" SNCO.

Renovation of 11 high schools: repair works of roof, bathroom, engineering infrastructure:
• “Armavir High School №1 after R. Yeghoyan",
• “Alaverdi High School №5 after St. Shahumyan”,
• “Yerevan High School № 83 after H. Galstyan”,
• “Tashir High School after Artak Khachatryan”,
• “Ijevan High School after Garnik Ananyan”
• “Vanadzor High School №17 after Movses Khorenatsi”,
• “Gyumri High School №26”
• “Yerevan High School №105”
• “Yerevan High School №94 after Gurgen Margaryan”
• “Ashtarak High School № 5 after N. Sisakyan”
• “Armavir High School №1 after R. Yeghoyan”.

Partial and general renovation of 4 high schools:
•Gym Reconstruction of the High School of “Shirak State University” Foundation
•General renovation and repair of the fence of "Yeghvard High School №1" SNCO,
•Renovation of the gym and the hall of celebrations at "Vagharshapat High School №2 after Grigor Narekatsi" SNCO,
•Restoration of the damage caused to the building of "Yerevan High School №195" SNCO.

Improvement of the building conditions for 30 basic and secondary schools: construction of ramps for the social inclusion of vulnerable children, renovation and adaptation of bathrooms, renovation of support rooms:

• Installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning system for the "History Museum of Armenia" SNCO,
• Repair the boiler house of "G. Sundukyan State Academic Theater ”SNCO,
• Repair of public toilets, dressing rooms and attics , and re-equipment of the stage of the "National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan" SNCO
• Fire alarm system installation works at “Gyumri State Drama Theatre after Vardan Adjemian”.

Project works will be implemented for “Bardzrashen Secondary School”, 3 museums - “Yeghishe Charents House-Museum”, “History Museum named after N. Adonts”, reconstruction of the 2^nd floor of Etchmiadzin Art Gallery named after Khoren Ter-Harutyubyan, NGA SNCO, as well as renovation of the floor of the “National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan".
